College is an exciting time in your life. You have graduated high school and now you are making the transition from depending on your parents for everything to learning how to live on your own. Your college years can be fun and exciting. This is a time for you to prepare for adult life so you will want to make the most of your college years.
Having a college party is an expected ritual of all college students. College parties are a big part of college life. Students feel that they have been smothered by their parents for so long they are now ready to celebrate their freedom. It is also a time when they realize that after college they may be limited on partying because of having to work and make their own living.
A college party can be anything or any kind of party you wish it to be. You might want to plan a party to celebrate the end of each semester and your success at getting another one under your belt.
Since most college students have a limited budget you will probably need some help from your friends to fund the party. You can all chip in and order pizza without spending a lot of money. If you plan on having alcohol at your college party you can allow everyone to bring their own.
When throwing college parties you might also want them to be pot luck. That way you can each make your special dish and nobody has to spend a lot of money or effort. Finger foods are a great way to get together and enjoy the party without having a lot of work involved.
If your college party falls at the same time as the holiday season it might be fun to exchange gifts before you head home for the holidays. Gag gifts are always a lot of fun and provide a lot of laughter. You can play a game where everybody draws a number and the one with the lowest number picks the first gift. When the person with the second number gets to pick a gift they can either take the gift away from the first person or they can pick one of their own. The person who gets to go last will be able to pick any gift they want because they will have the option to take any gift the others have opened. This type of game is good for a lot of laughs.
Regardless of what type of college party you have the important thing is to think of safety. If there is alcohol involved you will not want your guests driving home. You should plan on everybody staying overnight until the alcohol wears off. This is also fun because everybody gets to sleep in the floor or wherever they can find.
College parties are supposed to be fun and that is exactly how they should be. Enjoying your college years can prepare you for life after college because you will not feel that you have never had a chance at fun. Enjoying your college years will prepare you for a life of responsibility later. |
